Rachel and I first met at an Italian Restaurant called “Buca di Beppo’s” in Columbus, Ohio. I was singing “Happy Birthday” to her table and we both noticed each other. She returned again, and again. Finally, I asked her out. We finished college (The Ohio State / Capital Universities) the same year, moved in together, and then over five years ago we moved to South Korea to teach English and do some traveling. After getting engaged on Oct 21st, 2005 we began saving money to take a big trip around the world. The time has come! We set off from Korea in March of 2009 and plan to (roughly) follow the maps below.
We got married in Thailand, in June, 2009.
1. Travel till’ the money is gone!
2. Have copious amounts of fun!
3. Find the best place to settle down.

I’m grateful to live the way I do. I feel rich because my interests and goals keep expanding. I have access to the tools that push them along and a friend who shares them with me. I want to share the things that I’ve seen and done. I want to eat a bean burrito with extra cheese.
Traveling teaches me a ton. It exposes me to great experiences, people, and beer.
I’ll be sad when this trip comes to an end, but when it does, I can finally end this tantric sense of separation I feel from the guitar in my Mom’s
closet.

I grew up in and around the Columbus, OH area and never dreamed that one day I’d be living and teaching abroad. Living and experiencing another culture only made me want to see the rest of the world. I look forward to and enjoy this fantastic adventure everyday.
I miss friends, family, and my baby cat, Tayon and can’t wait to see them when I
return home, but for now, I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything. There isn’t
a place I’ve visited yet that hasn’t taught me something or left an impression on
me -
Go Bucks!!!
