

Taiwan was one of our “overlooked” trips of 2004. I say “overlooked” because it just doesn’t seem to jump out of the past like our time in Vietnam, Thailand, or the Philippines; however, every time we look back and talk about it we say stuff like,
“That was really fun!” ... “Why don’t we talk about it more often?” .... I’m not sure.
Taipei was a bustling, moped driven city that had interesting markets and cultural
areas. We had a great time biking through the marble cliffs of Torako Gorge. Even
the train ride to that area (Hualien) was full of ocean views and misty mountains.
The only reason we didn’t visit again during our “around the world trip” was because
of it’s inconvenient, water-
However, there is fun to be had in Taiwan and we’ve met a few people who really enjoyed living there.
