What We Learned
1. Apparently, the Great Wall sections in Beijing are the equivalent of Chinese Disney Land. So we wouldn’t suggest it if your looking for a “pure” experience.
2. Try to rent a private car from Beijing. We paid 100 yuan ($16) per person for four people in two cars. They will drop you off at the Jinshaling enterance after a two hour drive. You can do the hike and they will wait for you in Simatai before taking everyone back to Beijing.
