- English is spoken and common.

 

- The metro system is great.

 

- Areas outside of the city can feel removed and almost tropic with the mountains and hills covered with vegetation.

 

- There are many more foreign products available. We found Chimay beer!

 

- There is a large expat community. Many with families.

 

- Loads of Filipino live-in housemaids work in Hong Kong. They live with the family they are hired to work for and have one day off a week.

 

- Don’t bother seeing the nightly laser-light show from the “Walk of Stars” if there is heavy smog or rain. It would be better to wait for a clear night to see it.

 

- If we hadn’t couchsurfed, we would have been over budget.

 

- There is a lot of shopping to be done.
