We used Tagbiliran as home base a couple times during our stay in Bohol. We would stay here in betweeen trips in Bohol because we could get money and different supplies. This city isn’t spectacular but it was nice to eat fast food, have access to more foriegn products, and enjoy some A/C.

There are two malls in the city, Island and BQ (I think). Island is a little outside of town and bigger/newer, but  we stayed near the other. There is a huge church in that area that is worth checking out and McDonalds tastes pretty good after not having fast food for awhile.

What We Learned

- Booking a room here can be difficult, plan ahead.

- If you want to save money, consider “Charisma” across from “Nisa Travelers.” It’s super cheap and in a good location but not very clean.

- Buy your ferry tickets ahead of time, they sell out. If they are sold out, ask to be put on the waiting list. We were able to get on a ferry this way.

- The Mongolian BBQ chain in the BQ mall is a great value.

- The GT Express is the best way to get around Bohol. These min-vans drive responsibily, are decently priced, and don’t stop frequently like the jeepney’s and buses do.
